Testing can be completed by the homeowner, or a C-NRPP certified professional from Radon Controls can do it for you.
A 3-12 month test is recommended to ensure a long term average is determined.
As radon levels can fluctuate significantly from day to day, basing a decision to mitigate on a short-term test can lead to false positives and false negatives. However, there are times when a short-term test is appropriate, such as a real estate transaction.
For schools, daycares and commercial properties, the protocols are different and we suggest hiring a radon measurement professional for these situations.
